What are Inclusive Hacks and Hackathons?

A hack takes something that already exists and changes it in some way to make it easier to use or usable in different ways. You can hack something on your own or attend a hackathon. Hackathons are a gathering of individuals who come together with a common goal in order to solve a specific cause and create a hack. All hacks for this project have one common goal, that is to recreate, develop or create an assistive device to make a Canadian innovation more inclusive. The possibilities are endless, and what can be changed can vary from inventions of technology to food, all the way to specific policies and laws.

Choose your own Canadian idea to hack, or get some inspiration from our list of Canadian Inventions and Monthly Challenges.
