August Hackathon

This is a collection of all the solutions from our two day hackathon with Big IDea at the Red Lab (49 McCaul St).

 

  • Charge-It-Up

    Members: Andy Bodin, Daniel Ura, Mohsen Mahjoobnia, William Lau
    Canadian Invention: Alkaline Battery
    Hacking: Creating an assistive device in order to make it easier to remove batteries from other devices.

  • QuickTack

    Members: Chad Mohammed, Laura Johnson, Mohsen Mahjoobnia, Steven Shi
    Canadian Invention: Paint Roller
    Hacking: Recreating the handle in order to make it easier to attach and detach the paint roller itself.

     

 

  • Humpty Dumpty

    Members: Michael Yuen, Manuel Sarmiento, Ivory Garland, Maya Dasgupta, Sergio Sarmiento
    Canadian Invention: Egg Carton
    Hacking: Redesigning the shape and use of the egg carton to make it easier to retrieve the eggs.

     

 

  • Sliding Doors

    Members: Kathy Luc, Jason Ye, Ben Kim, Franco Cirelli
    Canadian Invention: Accessibility Bus
    Hacking: Creating an assistive device in order to make it easier to remove batteries from other devices.

     

 

  • Wonder-Bruh!

    Members: Angelique, Britney, Diane, Kent
    Canadian Invention: Wonderbra (Push up bra)
    Hacking: Created a wire system that would allow the individual to hang from doors or attach to the frames of doors or lower ceiling areas with clasps at the side that would extend from the sides to make it easier to do up the bra from behind.

     

 

  • Frida the Super Woman

    Members: Lily Hart, Jacob Willow
    Canadian Invention: Superman
    Hacking: Designing another version of Superman to tackle gender normative ideals of superheroes.
